The Master of Education (M.Ed.) programme is meant for candidates desirous of pursuing post-graduate programme in education. Besides preparing teacher educators, it also aims at preparing educational administrators, supervisors and researchers. The M.Ed. programme would comprise theoretical courses including specialized courses in the discipline of education and related practical/field work including exposure to and training in a teacher education institution. In addition, research work in the form of a dissertation would form an essential part of the programme.
The M.Ed. programme shall be of duration of one academic year.
There shall be a basic unit of Thirty Five (35) students.
The institution charges fee as prescribed by the State Govt. in accordance with provisions of NCTE Regulations, 2002.
The Bachelor of Education programme, generally known as B.Ed., is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary (classes IX-X) and senior secondary (classes XI-XII) levels.
B.Ed. programme shall be of duration of at least one academic year or two semesters.
There shall be a basic unit of One hundred students divided into two sections of fifty each.
The institution charges fee as prescribed by the State Govt. in accordance with provisions of NCTE Regulations, 2002.
The aim of elementary education is to fulfill the basic learning needs of all children in an inclusive school environment bridging social and gender gaps with the active participation of the community. The programme aims at preparing teachers for elementary stage of education that is Classes I toVII/VIII.
The elementary teacher education programme carries different nomenclatures like BTC, Diploma in Education, TTC and so on. Both the duration of training and entry qualifications of the course is same, hence, nomenclature of the course shall be same (D.El.Ed) across all states.
The elementary teacher education programme shall be of duration of two academic years.
There shall be a basic unit of fifty students, for each year.
